With a little bit of planning, a field trip to Cincinnati Museum Center can be a rich educational experience. Cincinnati Museum Center wants to assist teachers in making the most of their visit. This section contains detailed descriptions of our school programs, all of which are designed to match curriculum standards for Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana. Pre- and post-visit activity sheets and exhibit guides are available for download. Our comprehensive programming provides many options for teachers. With four levels of programming to choose from, educators can create for their students an experience that reinforces what is being taught in the classroom. Floor ProgramsThese programs take place daily in the exhibits of each museum and are conducted by museum staff. Each museum has its own schedule of programs separate from school programs, so it is important to check with Information & Reservations at (513) 287-7021 regarding programs and times. Programs are scheduled quarterly, and so may not be set when you make reservations. All programs are designed to meet state and national curriculum teaching standards. Learning LabsThese programs cover science, social studies and early childhood topics. Learning Labs are presented in an interactive and vibrant manner and are meant to be a hands-on experience for students. Most Learning Labs take place in the museums, enabling students to see and experience the presented topic first-hand. Programs-on-WheelsThese outreach programs are similar to Learning Labs but are designed to bring Cincinnati Museum Center to your classroom. Program presenters are lively and energetic in order to inspire and educate students in whatever topic is being presented. |
