Freedom’s Sisters is an exhibition created by Cincinnati Museum Center, organized for travel by Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Services, and made possible by a grant from the Ford Motor Company Fund. Presented locally by Macy’s.

Essay Contest- Contest open through July 15, 2008 "Who is your favorite Freedom Sister and why? What are you doing to continue her legacy?" (250-500 words) Eligible Participants: 4th through 8th grade Prizes: 1st place- $5,000 U.S. Savings Bond 2nd place- $2,500 U.S. Savings Bond 3rd place- $1,000 U.S. Savings Bond 1st, 2nd & 3rd runners-up- one (1) $500 U.S. Savings Bond each Essays should be mailed to: Ford Motor Company Attn: Freedom's Sisters Essay Contest-Cincinnati 1 American Road- 211WHQ, Dearborn, MI 48126 Please include name, school, grade level and contact information. A new program designed to educate local children about the Civil Rights movement in Cincinnati and its leaders. Through interactive smartboard activities students will have access to primary source materials, and oral history interviews. Students will also learn how during the 20th and into the 21st century, Cincinnati was and is dealing with many of the same social and racial issues as the rest of the country. The program can accommodate 30 students and is 60 minutes long. To bring a school or community group call (513) 287-7021 for prices and to schedule a program. Additional programming may include a Cincinnati Civil Rights panel discussion in June, led by history advisory board members Marianna Brown Bettman and William Madison.
