EXHIBIT PROGRAM SPECIALIST (Museum of Natural History & Science)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Interpret MNHS exhibits and science floor demonstrations. Assist in research and development of programs, train/assist youth and adult volunteers with exhibit and floor deomonstrations as needed. Provide an enriciching and engaging environment for visitors by providing excellent customer service by greeting visitors, answering questions, and giving directional information as needed.Monitor exhibit maintenance needs and represent MNHS as a CMC Ambassador. This position works on the museum floor approximately 75% of the time.

QUALIFICATIONS:

H.S. diploma or equivalent with coursework in science, education or related field. Must be out-going, friendly, energetic and have a positive attitude. Desire and ability to work with the public, particularly school groups and families, in an informal education environment. Experience as a teacher in a formal or informal learning environment a plus.Experience with customer service, public speaking, and/or theater/dramatics desirable. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented setting. Must possess excellent communication and good listening, mediating and organizational skills.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Hourly full-time position (40 hours/week) with benefits. Tuesday through Saturday work schedule. Hours, 9 - 5:30. Some holidays and occasional evening hours required. .
