Union Terminal in need of significant repair, restoration-media tour offered

Tour to highlight immediate needs, current projects and future plans: Today, Feb. 11 at 10 a.m.

CINCINNATI - As one of the region's most well-known and beloved buildings, Cincinnati Union Terminal has welcomed more than 150 million visitors since its opening in 1933. As with any structure standing for more than 75 years, Union Terminal is in need of significant repair.

The first phase in the restoration process has already begun, with construction on Project One slated to commence this spring. Cincinnati Museum Center President and CEO Doug McDonald, Senior Director of Facilities and Operations Steve Terheiden, and glaserworks principal Art Hupp will provide an overview of Project One and also discuss the much larger repair and restoration needs. A behind-the-scenes tour of affected areas will also be given.

WHERE: Tour will begin in the Cincinnati Dining Room located off of the Rotunda

VISUALS: Soon-to-be renovated historic dining rooms; murals in need of repair; structural
damage throughout the building; Materials detailing specific building repair
needs and restoration plans will be provided to those in attendance.
