Racecar Driver Milka Duno
Makes Pit Stop at Museum Center August 7

Reads from Her New Children's Book
"Go, Milka, Go!"

WHAT: Cincinnati Museum Center welcomes renaissance woman, Milka Duno to Duke Energy Children's Museum where she will be reading from her new children's book, "Go, Milka, Go!"

Born in Caracas, Venezuela, Milka has demonstrated that she has both the desire to achieve and the dedication necessary to succeed. As a young woman she recognized the value of education as the first step on her path towards reaching her goals. In addition to being one of the most successful female sportscar racers in history, Milka is also a qualified Naval Engineer with four master's degrees - in Organizational Development, Naval Architecture, Fishing and Aquaculture and Maritime Business - earning the last three degrees simultaneously.

This year, Milka also added "actress" to her list of accomplishments, playing the role of Kellie "Gearbox," in Speed Racer, the major motion picture based on the 1960's classic animated series.

Her most recent achievement is the completion of her bilingual children's book, "Go, Milka, Go!" The book depicts her as a cartoon character, and is infused with messages that emphasize the value of education, the pleasure of competing and winning, team effort, solidarity and generosity. She demystifies "popularity" as it is understood today in schools; and above all supports hard work, discipline, perseverance and self-confidence as the path to fulfilling dreams. Milka will be reading from her new book, to children in the Duke Energy Children's Museum. There will also be a showcar parked outside Museum Center, for race fans of all ages to enjoy.
