All Aboard! Holiday Junction returns to Cincinnati Museum Center
Model trains, family-friendly activities a plenty annual holiday tradition opening Saturday, Nov. 21

CINCINNATI – Better get your ticket to ride now – Holiday Junction has pulled into Cincinnati Museum Center!

A tradition now entering its 16th year, Holiday Junction returns to the Tri-State’s most historic train station with a full slate of activities sure to thrill railroad enthusiasts of all ages. Located inside the Cincinnati History Museum’s South Gallery, the event will once again feature a collection of model trains zipping around a three-dimensional winter wonderland.

Even jolly old St. Nick will be on hand, so children should come with their holiday wish lists with them Thursday-Monday. (Santa’s hours vary; visit www.cincymuseum.org for details.)

Admission to Holiday Junction is free for Members; non-members can get into the exhibit with the purchase of a ticket to the Cincinnati History Museum or an All Museums Pass.

TOYS THROUGH TIME

Also returning this year, Toys Through Time is a free exhibit that invites adults to relive their childhood memories while inviting children to make new ones via an exploration of goods from yesteryear. Located in the John A. Ruthven Exhibit Gallery, the exhibit features everything from 19th and 20th century dolls and games to vintage items such as original Star Wars toys made by Cincinnati’s Kenner Toy Company…and a first edition Monopoly set complete with sterling silver game pieces.

Toys Through Time also features a Lionel No. 10 passenger train set that was originally a Christmas gift given to William Robert Attee III, then a Cincinnati youth, in 1925. The set, which contains a metal locomotive, three passenger cars, a track, switches, signals and several buildings in excellent working condition, was donated to Cincinnati Museum Center following the success of a past Toys Through Time installation.

Admission to Toys Through Time is free and open to the public.

EXPLORE HISTORIC TOWER A

Upon Union Terminal’s opening 76 years ago, more than 200 trains would venture through its tracks every day – and Tower A was the place that made sure they were all in the right place at the right time. Restored to its former glory in the 1990s by the Cincinnati Railroad Club, Tower A is open from noon to 4 p.m. Wednesday-Sunday during Holiday Junction.
