These interactive family workshops are designed for 5 to 10-year-olds! A panel of educators will provide these enriching experiences for the whole family. Workshops are $5 per child, per session for members; $7 per child per session for non-members. Museum admission is not included in the workshop fee.
Fiber Fun Join us each week as we weave, sew, dye, and explore the amazing field of fabric works. It’s sew much fun! This series will run for 8 weeks, with different fabric projects each week. Join us for the program of your choice or all eight! Here are the final 4 fabric programs: February 6 – Coiled Basket Weaving 11 to 11:45 a.m. February 13 – Weaving 1:30 to 2:15 p.m. February 20 – Batik 1:30 to 2:15 p.m. February 27 – Tamari Balls 11 to 11:45 a.m.
Home Made Music Explore the world of recycled musical instruments. Design and create your own musical instrument with the help of our own museum center musicians. March 27 11 to noon
Mosaic Mania Use your own photos to create a Photo Mosaic. Make a uniquely personal gift! Bring in your photos on a flash drive or CD to include in your project. This program will include many forms of mosaics for children to create. April 10 11 to 11:45
Spring Holidays Join us as we explore different spring holidays from around the world. Learn spring traditions with food, activities, and dancing. April 17 11 a.m. to noon
The Golden Age of Jeans Join us as we explore the gold rush. Levi Strauss headed west to help the miners and invented jeans! Well use our old jeans and lots of glitter to make our own golden paper. March 14 Noon to 12:45 p.m.
Quantum Café Are you hungering for science? Choose from our menu of open-ended science kits you can explore with guidance from our wait staff. Whether you just need a science snack, or want a heavy course, we've got an experiment for you. March 20 11 to 11:45 a.m.
