Ignite a love for science and technology by becoming a STEM Girl Today!
Discover authentic and relevant STEM experiences in our free program aimed at children grades 3rd-8th. All participants, regardless of gender, are welcome! Meet women actively working in STEM-related fields, and learn what they do through hands-on presentations and programing!
*Participants that are 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult, who must stay in the room for the duration of the program. Participants that are 13 and older may attend by themselves but may not count as a guardian for younger members.

Our Journey to Veterinary Cardiology (Grades 3rd-5th)
March 8, 2025 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Calling all pet lovers! An introduction to veterinary medicine and the specialty veterinary care available to pets, just like it is for humans! Doctors Kathleen Beekmann and Caroline Billings will present on their career in veterinary medicine and advanced cardiology care for pets. This program will include a hands-on experience with pets.

Tastes Good: The Science of Flavor and Beverages (Grades 3rd-5th)
March 22, 2025 from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
This hands-on program invites young explorers to dive into the fascinating world of flavors and beverages through the lens of science. Attendees will discover what a Givaudan Beverage Scientist does, why flavors are so important, and the science behind creating delicious drinks. By the end of the program, participants will have a deeper understanding of how our senses work together to enhance our drinking experience and have a delicious drink mix to take home!
This session is hosted by a team of Givaudan scientists. Givaudan is a global industry leader creating game-changing innovations in food and beverages as well as inspiring creations in the world of scent and beauty. Together with our customers we deliver food experiences, craft inspired fragrances and develop beauty and wellbeing solutions that make people look and feel good.

This hands-on program invites young scientists to dive into the fascinating world of flavors and beverages. Participants will engage in hands-on activities to measure the sweetness and pH levels of various beverage ingredients, gaining insights into how sugar and acid impact flavor expression. They will leave with their own custom drink mix and a greater appreciation for the complexities of flavor and beverage creation.

You will also learn about graphene, one of the most amazing and the smallest material ever created on the planet! Join us to take your first steps toward becoming a nano-scientist as you explore the power of nanotechnology and find out how these tiny materials are transforming the world around us.
